Choosing a light show
- Stay in the car: Speedway Christmas is drive-through. The Speedway says Friday and Saturday nights in December are busiest, and suggests Sundays or Thursdays.
- Walk it: Holidays at the Garden is a walking route on wide paved and gravel paths (stroller- and wheelchair-friendly). Bring a flashlight for darker stretches. Dogs aren't allowed.
- Small-town lights: McAdenville's lights fill a small historic downtown that you can walk or drive. The town suggests visiting early in the month and on a weekday, and arriving before 5 p.m. to get parking.
